From Grief to Joy: Praying with the Psalms of Lament
Join Revs. Robbie and Noelle over the first four Sundays in Lent as we look at the Psalms of Lament. Each week we'll consider a different aspect of the psalms – lament, petition, trust and praise – and use them as inspiration to write our own psalms of lament, moving from grief to joy.

Using the order for Night Prayer from the New Zealand Book of Prayer and readings especially selected for Lent, we will gather in prayer to journey with Jesus to the foot of the cross. This candlelit service will also include periods of extended silence for reflection as the days lengthen, the light lingers, and we draw nearer to the joy of Easter.
Join us in the church from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. to pray the Stations of the Cross. Each of the 14 stations captures a moment along Christ’s journey to the Cross – from his trial to his death. And at each station, there are special prayers of remembrance of Christ’s Passion as well as prayers for our world and for your own petitions. You are welcome to lead one of the Stations, to walk around the church with us, or to simply sit in your pew and pray. This annual Lenten observance is sponsored by the Daughters of the King. All are welcome.
Taizé is an ecumenical community in France that focuses its ministry on reconciliation with Christ and the world. The community’s life is centered on a specific style of worship and prayer, in many languages, that form the basis of their reflection and action. Visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities visit the community to participate in their life and worship. Taizé worship is quiet, reflective, deeply peaceful, and joyful, including four-part harmony chants, silences, prayers, and readings.
On Maundy Thursday, March 28, we will commemorate the institution of the Eucharist by celebrating an Agape Meal in the Auditorium, where we will share a simple meal together, hear the story of the night when Jesus broke bread with the disciples, and pray as we dine together. Following the Agape meal, we will process over to the church for Holy Eucharist. The Agape meal starts at 6:00 p.m., the Eucharist starts at 7:30 p.m.
This year's retreat will be lead by the Daughters of the King and is open to all parishioners. More details will be available in Parish Life.
The Labyrinth is a medieval Christian practice that provides a guided pattern for walking prayer. It is a metaphor for the spiritual journey; an opportunity for physically guided meditation and a way to deepen and amplify your worship experience wherever you are on your journey of faith. If you long for a moment’s peace and quiet; if you seek an alternative path to prayer and meditation; if you’re curious and seeking, then come and walk with us.
Here are the times that the Labyrinth is planned to be available during Lent.
