Volunteer & Fellowship Opportunities

20/30 group

The greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area has a unique ability to draw people in. It’s the seat of our nation and home to a diversified community. Many who are drawn to the area are in their 20's and 30's. At Christ Church we have a special home for these folks. The 20/30 Vision group provides an outlet for fellowship, faith formation, and service. Through spiritual and social discourse, we help each other to be good stewards in our congregation and the larger community. This is a place for us to build relationships and find meaning. For more information, email Robbie Laughton.

Bridge Group

We meet weekly to play bridge and enjoy fellowship. Both novice and experienced players are welcome. For more information, contact Jay Purcell.

Covenant Class

A ten-week class for seekers, newcomers, and those who are curious about their faith, Christianity, and what it is to be an Episcopalian in a safe, intimate, and welcoming setting. For more information, click here.

Daughters of the King

We are a spiritual sisterhood dedicated to a life of prayer, service, and evangelism which meets monthly to study and pray for the needs of the parish and the world. For more information, contact Nancy Knapp.

Dinner Church

What do you get when you combine dinner and church? Come find out!

On the first Wednesday of each month from 5:45-7:30 p.m., Christ Church will offer a catered dinner with choices for everyone. We will have a short “Service of Word and Table” during dinner for everyone to participate in together, with opportunities to pray together and serve each other. Many months we will have optional programs available for children and adults after dinner.

At our monthly Dinner Church gatherings, we will have the opportunity to be together with friends old and new, to catch up with one another and enjoy the company of our community. We will pray together in order to reset our hearts for the month ahead. We will all be reminded of the intimate connection of the dinner table to the Eucharist Table and begin to blur those lines in our homes and in our lives. As an added bonus, you will not need to cook dinner or clean up that night!

There will be a cost for dinner, to be determined, to cover our costs. But we will keep the price as low as possible and will always have scholarships and discounts available for those who need it.

LGBTQ+ Theology and Faith

First and Third Thursday of the month | 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Library

Beginning April 18, LGBTQ+ parishioners gather every first and third Thursday for conversation about the relationship between their spiritual journeys and their coming out journeys. Through prayerful study of scripture in a safe, open, and loving space, we will seek a deeper understanding of our faith, our lived experiences, and our relationship with Jesus. For more information, please contact Terry Brown.  For other questions about LGBTQ+ groups, contact the Rev. Robbie Laughton.
